This straight forward circuit will protect electrical appliances from over voltage as well as under voltage. The circuit also produces an alarm when the power supply comes back. An ideal circuit for home to protect your valuable equipments from voltage fluctuations. The same circuit with some modifications can be used  to make a automatic voltage stabilizer. At this condition transistor T1 will not conduct. The same time voltage at the negative terminal of zener diode D5 will be greater than 5.6 and so the transistor T2 will be conducting. Gas Leakage Alarm

Here is a circuit that can be used to detects the leakage of LPG gas and alerts the user through audio-visual indications. The circuit uses SEN-1327 gas sensor module from RhydoLABZ . Its output goes high when the gas level reaches or exceeds certain point. A preset in the module is used to set the threshold. Interfacing with the Sensor module is connected to circuit through a 4-pin SIP header. The circuit powered by 9V PP3 battery. Zener diode ZD1 is used to convert 9V into 5V DC to drive the gas sensor module.  An MQ-6 LPG gas sensor is used in the gas sensor module. According to its datasheet, it has high sensitivity to propane, butane, isobutene, LPG and natural gas. The sensor can also be used to detect combustible gases, especially methane. This circuit has been tested with LPG gas and was found to work satisfactorily. This circuit can be used for sounding an alarm to detect the breaking of a glass window by an intruder, even when the intruder ensures there is no sound of the shattered glass. It is built around a piezo element connected across connector CON2, transistor BC549 (T1), timer NE555 (IC1), a piezo buzzer (PZ1) and a few other components. A small piezo element used in the piezo buzzer is used as a sensor. It may be fixed at the centre of the window glass. IC1 is wired in monostable multivibrator mode, which is triggered by the piezo element. Output of IC1 is used to drive piezo buzzer PZ1. LED1 indicates the high-state output at pin 3 of IC1. Long range Burglar Alarm Using Laser Torch

Laser torch-based burglar alarms normally work in darkness only. But this long-range photoelectric alarm can work reliably in daytime also to warn you against intruders in your big compounds, etc. The alarm comprises laser transmitter and receiver units, which are to be mounted on the opposite pillars of the entry gate. Whenever anyone enters to interrupt the transmitted laser beam falling on the receiver, the buzzer in the receiver circuit sounds an alarm. The range of this burglar alarm is around 30 metres, which means you can place the transmitter and the receiver up to 30 metres apart. Since the laser torch can transmit light up to a distance of 500 metres, this range can be increased by orienting the phototransistor sensor properly. To avoid false triggering by sunlight, mount the phototransistor sensor such that it doesn’t directly face sunlight. These circuits are intended for remote monitoring of the current consumption on the domestic mains line. The circuit in Fig. I lights the signal lamp upon detecting a mains current consumption of more than 5 mA, and handles currents of several amperes with appropriate diodes fitted in the D, and D2 positions. Transistor Ti is switched on when the drop  across D,-D2 exceeds a certain level. Diodes from  the well-known I N400x series can be used for currents of up to I A, while lN540x types are rated for up to 3 A. While smoke alarms are quite cheap devices, the cost of 9V batteries quickly exceeds their purchase price. Added to that is the irritation of random beeps from the alarm as the battery reaches the end of its useful life. This circuit allows typical smoke alarms to be powered from the 12V supply in a burglar alarm while still keeping the standard 9V batteries in place. It extends the 9V battery life to that of its "shelf life" as the battery is only required to drive the smoke alarm in the event the 12V supply is removed or shorted out. This Photodiode based Alarm can be used to give a warning alarm when someone passes through a protected area. The circuit is kept standby through a laser beam or IR beam focused on to the Photodiode. When the beam path breaks, alarm will be triggered.   Photodiode Alarm Circuit Diagram   The circuit uses a PN Photodiode in the reverse bias mode to detect light intensity. In the presence of Laser / IR rays, the Photodiode conducts and provides base bias to T1. The NPN transistor T1 conducts and takes the reset pin 4 of IC1 to ground potential. IC1 is wired as an Astable oscillator using the components R3, VR1 and C3. The Astable operates only when its resent pin becomes high. The LM1830 fluid detector IC from National Semiconduc tor is designed to be able to detect the presence of fluids using a probe. This chip requires a relatively high supply voltage and is not the most frugal power consumer. It is also quite specialised so unless you are buying in bulk the one-off price is not cheap. An alternative circuit show n her e uses a standard CMOS IC type 74HC14. It has the advantage of operating with a 3 V supply and consumes less than 1 µA when the alarm is not sounding, this makes it ideal for use with batteries. This simple to build alarm can be fitted in bikes to protect them from being stolen. The tiny circuit can be hidden anywhere, without any complicated wiring. Virtually, it suits all bikes as long as they have a battery. It doesn't drain out the battery though as the standby current is zero. The hidden switch S1 can be a small push-to-on switch, or a reed switch with magnet, or any other similar simple arrangement. The circuit is designed around a couple of low-voltage MOSFETs configured as monostable timers. Motorbike key S2 is an ignition switch, while switch S3 is a tilt switch. Motorbike key S2 provides power supply to the gate of MOSFET T2, when turned on.  When you turn ignition off using key S2, you have approximately 15 seconds to get off the bike; this function is performed by resistor R6 to discharge capacitor C3. In normal suburban driving you pass through so many different speed zones that it can be a nuisance having to switch speed settings. The speed display can also be a distraction. This circuit eliminates the display and the need for speed selection. Each time you exceed a particular speed setting (eg, 40km/h, 50km/h, etc), a piezo buzzer will beep. Speed pulses are fed to the base of Q1 and the resulting waveform at its collector is fed via an RC network to the input of an LM2917 frequency-to-voltage converter, IC1. The resulting voltage is fed to three comparators (IC2d-IC2b) which have the reference voltages at their inverting inputs set by 10-turn trimpots VR1, VR2 & VR3. The output of each comparator is applied via another RC network to the gate of an SCR. The anodes of the three SCRs are commoned connected to the inverting input of the remaining comparator, IC2a.
