RSLinx Tutorial | Configuring the Ethernet Driver The Ethernet driver is used to make a connection to Ethernet Devices, such as an Ethernet PLC-5, or a ControlLogix system . The following steps will walk you through a sample configuration of the Ethernet driver in RSLinx . 1) Open RSLinx communication server 2) Click 'Communication' on the menu bar, and then choose 'Configure Drivers'. 3) From the Available driver types pull down menu, choose 'Ethernet Drives', then press the 'Add New' button. 4) For this example, the name can be left at default.
