8 Watt Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram

Image
This is the 8 Watt Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram. This amp can be used as a simple booster, the heart of a more complicated amplifier or used as a guitar amp. It is very small and portable unit and can be powered through 12V battery. I built the circuit on a Vero Board and had to add extra inductors, capacitors and resistors to prevent oscillation. Circuit diagram: 8 Watt Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram Parts: R1 = 47K R2 = 2.2R/1W R3 = 220R/1W R4 = 2.2R/1W C1 = 100nF-63V C2 = 10uF-25V C3 = 470uF-25V C4 = 2000uF-25V C5 = 100nF-63V IC1 = LM383 SPKR = 4ohm/8W Notes: IC1 must be installed on a heat sink. C1 is for filtering and to prevent oscillation and should not be omitted. The circuit can be built on a Vero Board, universal solder board or PC board, the PC board is preferred. The circuit draws about 880Ma at 12 V. By swapping the values of R2 and R3; you can turn this amplifier into a guitar amp with no preamp required. If you can't find 2000uF, then replace C4 with ...

UPS Power Supply Circuits Diagram

Image
This circuit is a simple form of the commercial UPS , the circuit provides a constant regulated 5 Volt output and an unregulated 12 Volt supply. In the event of electrical supply line failure the battery takes over, with no spikes on the regulated supply. This circuit can be adapted for other regulated and unregulated voltages by using different regulators and batteries. For a 15 Volt regulated supply use two 12 Volt batteries in series and a 7815 regulator . There is a lot of flexibility in this circuit. TR1 has a primary matched to the local electrical supply which is 240 Volts in the UK. The secondary winding should be rated at least 12 Volts at 2 amp, but can be higher, for example 15 Volts. FS1 is a slow blow type and protects against short circuits on the output, or indeed a faulty cell in a rechargeable battery. LED 1 will light ONLY when the electricity supply is present, with a power failure the LED will go out and output voltage is maintained by the battery. The circuit bel...

Simple But Low Power Inverter

Image
This is a Simple But  low-power inverter uses only 9 parts and turns 10 to 16 Vdc into 60-Hz, 115-V square-wave power to operate ac equipment up to 25 W. The first section of the 556 timer chip is wired as an astable oscillator with R2 and C1 setting the frequency. The output is available at pin 5. The second section is wired as a phase inverter. Low-Power Inverter Circuit Diagram:  That output is available at pin 9. Resistors R3 and R4 keep output transistors Q1 and Q2 from loading down the oscillator. The two transistors drive the transformer push-pull fashion. When one transistor is biased-on, the other is cut-off. The transformer is a 120 V/18 VCT unit that is connected backwards, so that it steps the voltage up rather than down. Oscillator circuit U1, R1, R2, and C1 operates from about 4 to 16 V with a very ~stable output.

22W Amplifier for 12V Power Supply Systems

Image
This is a 22-W Amplifier circuit that is designed for or 12-V DC power supply Systems. There are many application for  this circuit,  such as in car audio  application. In car electrical  power supply system, the 12V power supply will be provided by the host vehicle’s battery.  The capacitor C3 is used to give ripple rejection, since noisy power supply voltage is common in automotive electrical system. The power supply noise signal on car power supply is decoupled by the capacitors C2 and C1.  Smaller capacitor C2 is needed to decouple the high frequency noise, since the larger cap (C1) usually has high equivalent series inductance that prevent the high frequency noise  (such as glitch or spike) to be bypassed.  The capacitors C5 couple the incoming audio signal to IC1 while decoupling static DC offset. For better bass response, this circuit prevent rolling off of the low audio frequencies by choosing a relatively large capacitance for small sign...

Non Contact Power Monitor circuit Diagram

Image
Here is a simple non-contact AC power monitor for home appliances and laboratory equipment that should remain continuously switched-on. A fuse failure or power breakdown in the equipment going unnoticed may cause irreparable loss. The monitor sounds an alarm on detecting power failure to the equipment. The circuit is built around CMOS IC CD4011 utilising only a few components. NAND gates N1 and N2 of the IC are wired as an oscillator that drives a piezobuzzer directly. Resistors R2 and R3 and capacitor C2 are the oscillator components. The amplifier comprising transistors T1 and T2 disables the oscillator when mains power is available. In the standby mode, the base of T1 picks up 50Hz mains hum during the positive half cycles of AC and T1 conducts. Circuit diagram:     Non-Contact Power Monitor circuit diagram    This provides base current to T2 and it also conducts, pulling the collector to ground potential. As the collectors of T1 and T2 are connected to pin 2...

Low voltage Power Supply Circuit Diagram

Image
If you want to check the behaviour of an electronic circuit at low voltages, an adjustable power supply as shown here may be helpful. Powered from a 3 to 16 volts source (DC for sure), it will provide a stable output voltage in the 0 to 1.5 V range. Adjustable Low-voltage Power Supply Circuit Diagram Multiturn trimpot P1 allows the output volt-age to be adjusted with good precision. The BC337-400 output transistor raises the out-put current to about 200 mA bearing in mind that the minimum supply voltage is 3.5 V. The transistor’s dissipation should be taken into account, and a more power ful t ype used if necessary. T1 may be omitted and R2 replaced with a wire link if you are happy with 3 mA at 3 volts out, 10 mA at 6 V or 20-30 mA at 10-16 V. These values represent the maximum output current of the TLC271 op amp. Without T1, the minimum supply voltage is 3.0 V. Author:Vladimir Mitrovic - Copyright: Elektor

A Simple 15V Variable Power Supply

Image
This a simple 15v variable power supply circuit is using 2N3055 transistors. Output voltage of this variable power supply can be adjusted in the range between 1.5 and 15 volts. 15V Variable Power Supply Circuit Diagram: This 2N3055 15v variable power supply can provide a maximum current of 500 mA. Stabilization is better than 2%, if the currents do not exceed 350 mA. Voltage is set using a potentiometer, and the presence of overload is announced by an audible indication of overload. T4 transistor compare the voltage at the cursor P1 with the output. When this voltage is higher with 0.65 V than regulated voltage, T2 opens, leading to suppression of the current Darlington power stage, T3-T5. In this mode, the output voltage of the source is higher than 0.65 V reference voltage on the base of T4, which comes from a 15 V zener diode.

Regulated DC power supply

Image
Regulated DC Power Supply using transistors. A low ripple regulated DC power supply designed based on transistors is shown here. Such transistor voltage regulators are suitable for application where high output current is required. Conventional integrated series regulators like 7805 can only deliver up to 1A. Additional series pass transistors have to be added to the 7805 based regulator circuit for improving their current capacity. Description. The circuit shown below is a basic series voltage regulator based on transistors. Transistor Q1 (2N 3054) and Q2 (2N 3055) form a darlington pair. Resistor R1 provides the base current for Q1 and also keeps the zener diode D2 in the active region. The overall working of the circuit can be demonstrated by explaining two situations. When the input voltage (output of the rectifier section) increases, the output voltage of the regulator (Vout) also increases. This increase in Vout decreases the base emitter voltage of Q2 because the zener diode D2...

Build a 1 3 32 V 5A Power Supply w Short Circuit Protection by LM338

Image
Project Description This is a very easy to build power supply that is based on LM338 5A adjustable voltage regulator. I am using the supply for a long time, have no problem yet. Only current adjust is missing but I overcome this situation by using an LCD panel ampermeter.  There is no PCB for the circuit. I took a 3x16 copper plate and strip the unused areas by a knife. If you want you can use analog meters instead of LCD panels.    Notes Use thick wires for connections. When connecting the LM338 to the heatsink use thermal paste. Use external supplies for LCD panels. They can be 9V batteries. The panels I use draws 1mA current and the batteries last sufficiently long time. If you have small transformers which can supply regulated 9V, you can use them. You need separate transformers for each panel! The transformer should be 100 Watt but if you don't need high current you can try transformers that you already have. (I can draw 6A from 100Watt transformer.)If you have ...

USB Power Booster

Image
The USB serial bus can be configured for connecting several peripheral devices to a single PC. It is more complex than RS232, but faster and simpler for PC expansion.Since a PC can supply only a limited power to the external devices connected through its USB port, when too many devices are connected simultaneously, there is a possibility of power shortage. Therefore an external power source has to be added to power the external devices. USB Power Booster Circuit Diagram In USB, two different types of connectors are used: type A and type  B. The circuit presented here is an add-on unit, designed to add more power to a USB supply line (type-A). When power signal from the PC (+5V) is received through socket A, LED1 glows, opto-diac IC1 conducts and TRIAC1 is triggered, resulting in availability of mains supply from the primary of transformer X1. Now transformer X1 delivers 12V at its secondary, which is rectified by a bridge rectifier comprising diodes D1 through D4 and filtered by c...

Simple Electronic Project Battery Replacement Power Supply

Image
Here is a simple Electronic Project for battery replacement power supply to build easy.  Your child's battery toy has failed and you have to fix it. Once you have managed to get it apart, the battery compartment is not likely to be connected to the works or the batteries might have gone flat anyway. The solution is this switchable supply which is designed to replace from one to six dry cells. It is not intended to replace the batteries on a permanent basis, as in most cases this is not practical. Battery Replacement Power Supply Circuit Diagram: The heart of the supply is an LM317T adjustable 3-terminal regulator and six trimpots selected by switch S1b. The other pole of the switch, S1a, is used to select taps on the transformer secondary, to minimize power dissipation in the LM317T. The table shows the trimpot settings for the six voltage outputs. Diode D1 and the 10µF capacitor and the LED provide power indication. This has the advantage of constant brightness which would not be...

35 Ampere Power Supply

Image
To make 12Volt 35 Amp Power Supply such as those titles can using LM7812 voltage regulator as the regulator 12 Volt DC and as a power supply can use transistor  TIP2955 . Series Power Supply 12Volt 35 Amp uses 6 units TIP2955 type power regulator transistors. I use a type MJ2955 TIP2955 not because packaging TIP2955 easier to install heatsink. The series 12Volt 35 Amp Power Supply can be loaded up to 35A depending on the travo which we attach. The series 12Volt 35 Amp Power Supply is very simple, because the voltage regulators make use of IC7812 which will leave a power regulator alone. For more details, series 12Volt 35 Amp Power Supply can be seen in thethe following figure . 12Volt 35Ampere schematic If want the maximum currents up to 35A not only reduced the live circuit TIP2955nya power regulator, no need to 6 levels as seen in the image series 35 Ampere Power Supply 12Volt above.
