8 Watt Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram

Image
This is the 8 Watt Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram. This amp can be used as a simple booster, the heart of a more complicated amplifier or used as a guitar amp. It is very small and portable unit and can be powered through 12V battery. I built the circuit on a Vero Board and had to add extra inductors, capacitors and resistors to prevent oscillation. Circuit diagram: 8 Watt Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram Parts: R1 = 47K R2 = 2.2R/1W R3 = 220R/1W R4 = 2.2R/1W C1 = 100nF-63V C2 = 10uF-25V C3 = 470uF-25V C4 = 2000uF-25V C5 = 100nF-63V IC1 = LM383 SPKR = 4ohm/8W Notes: IC1 must be installed on a heat sink. C1 is for filtering and to prevent oscillation and should not be omitted. The circuit can be built on a Vero Board, universal solder board or PC board, the PC board is preferred. The circuit draws about 880Ma at 12 V. By swapping the values of R2 and R3; you can turn this amplifier into a guitar amp with no preamp required. If you can't find 2000uF, then replace C4 with ...

8 Stage LED VU Meter

Image
The circuit below uses two quad voltage comparators (LM339) to illuminate a series of 8 LEDs indicating volume level. Each of the 8 comparators is biased at increasing voltages set by the voltage divider so that the lower right LED comes on first when the input is about 400 millivolts or about 22 milliwatts peak in an 8 ohm system. Circuit diagram : 8 Stage LED VU Meter Circuit Diagram The divider voltages are set so that each LED represents about twice the power level as the one before so the scale extends from 22 milliwatts to about 2.5 watts when all LEDs are lit. The sensitivity can be decreased with the input control to read higher levels. I have not built or tested this circuit, so please let me know if you have problems getting it working. The power levels should be as follows: 1 LED = 22mW 2 LEDs = 42mW 3 LEDs = 90mW 4 LEDs = 175mW 5 LEDs = 320mW 6 LEDs = 650mW 7 LEDs = 1.2 Watts 8 LEDs = 2.5 watts

8 Random Flashing LEDs using 555timer

Image
This project flashes eight LEDs in an apparently random manner. It uses a 4060 combined counter and display driver IC which is designed for driving 7-segment LED displays. 8 Random Flashing LEDs Circuit Diagram The sequence is not really random because seven of the LEDs would normally be the display segments, the eighth LED is driven by an output that is normally used for driving further counters. The table below shows the sequence for the LEDs. You can use less than eight LEDs if you wish and the table may help you decide which ones to use for your purpose. Source
