Any work of art are often copied using this and therefore the elements that are needed to form this is often listed below: IR camera InkShield Ink cartridge IR LED. The software that's run on a desktop for this purpose is understood as paintbrush.py. The software plays the role of mapping the camera focus with the co-ordinate system of the canvas. Four LEDs are placed at every corner of the canvas and therefore the mapping is calibrated by hitting a key when needed. The region of the image is captured by tracking the motion of the LEDs. the mandatory commands are send to an Arduino with the InkShield by means that of a script written for t...

Automatic Emergency Light

Image
This is the simple circuit of automatic emergency light . It is called dark dependent circuit. A 555 timer IC and LDR is used for this configuration. When light fall on the LDR, its resistance is decrease and in dark position its resistance is going high. Using these characteristics of LDR, automatic emergency light is made. LDR is called Light Dependent Resistor. Its resistance is inversely proportional to the falling light on its surface. In dark, its resistance is approximately 7k to 10k. When light fall on its surface, its resistance is decrease to less than 1k. In the circuit, a voltage divider arrangement circuit is used here with LDR and 10K variable resistor. When light fall on the surface of LDR, the resistance decrease to 1k. So the voltage of the timer pin-6 is greater than 2/3 of +Vcc. For this reason the output pin-3 goes low. The base voltage of transistor BC547 is less than 0.75 volt. The transistor is OFF state. So the light is OFF. In dark position the LDR resistan...

Automatic Soldering Iron Switch Circuit Diagram

Image
Quite often, we forget to turn off the soldering iron. This results in not only a smoking oxidised iron but also waste of electricity. To solve this problem, here’s a circuit that automatically switches off the soldering iron after a predetermined time. The circuit draws no power when it is inactive. The circuit can also be used for controlling the electric iron, kitchen timer or other appliances. Automatic Soldering Iron Switch Circuit Diagram At the heart of the circuit is a monostable multivibrator built around timer IC 555. When the circuit is in sleep mode, to switch on the soldering iron, you should push switch S1 momentarily. The multivibrator gets triggered and its output pin 3 goes high for around 18 minutes to keep relay RL1 energised via transistor T1. At the same time, capacitor C3 charges and AC supply is provided to switch on the soldering iron via normally opened (N/O) contacts of relay RL1. The soldering iron remains ‘on’ for the time period predetermined by resistor R1...

Automatic Bathroom Light with Back up Lamp Circuit Diagram

Image
Sometimes we forget to switch off the bathroom light and it remains on unnoticed for long periods. This circuit solves the problem of electricity wastage by switching off the lamp automatically after 30 minutes once it is switched on. The back-up LED lamp provided in the circuit turns on for three minutes when mains fails. This is helpful especially when you are taking a shower at night. The circuit is built around binary counter CD4060 (IC2), which has a built-in oscillator and 14 cascaded bistable multivibrators. The oscillator generates clock pulses based on the values of resistors R3 and R4 and capacitor C3. Automatic Bathroom Light with Back-up Lamp Circuit Diagram   For the given values, Q11 output of IC2 goes high after 30 minutes of power-on. Resistor R2 resets the IC for proper operation. The output of IC2 is fed to the gate of the SCR via resistor R6 and LED2, which function as a voltage dropper as well as output status indicator. When the SCR gets gate drive, it fires to...

Automatic Range Switching Circuit Diagram

Image
You can pick up a 3½-digit digital volt-meter module nowadays for a little as a couple quid. This is a simple and expensive way to fit out a piece of equipment with an instrument. Most modules are based on the well-known ICL7106 IC . They operate from an ordinary 9-V battery, and they only provide a fixed measuring range (200 mV or 2 V). The accessory circuit described here converts a DVM module into a voltmeter with 20-V and 200-V measuring ranges, with the added bonus of automatic range switching. This requires a ground-referenced symmetrical supply voltage (±5 V) instead of a battery. An inexpensive TL431C is also used to generate an adjustable reference volt-age from the supply voltage. The circuit described here uses an LCD module with a fixed measuring range of 200 mV. It has three pins for driving the decimal point; two of them are used here. Automatic Range Switching Schematic This is how the circuit works: IC1 converts the voltage to be measured by the DVM m...

Automatic Windshield Washer Control

Image
Description  Most, if not all, recent cars have an impressive amount of electronics, whether it be ABS brake systems, engine control with injection calculators, airbag activation, or other various functions, called comfort functions. Among them is one which we tend to forget because it has become so common today. It turns on the windshield wipers automatically for a few seconds after the windshield cleaner. This practice is almost indispensable because it avoids any dripping of excess rinse product right in the middle of a just-cleaned windshield. Unfortunately, many ‘low end’ cars or some of the older cars are not equipped with this automatic function which is a very nice convenience to have. So, since all that is required is a handful of components that any electronics hobbyist worthy of the name already has in his/her drawer, we will discuss the circuit proposed here. This project is super simple and simply keeps the windshield wiper activated for a few seconds after the windshi...

Automatic Headlight Reminder

Image
Do you drive an older car without an automatic "lights-on" warning circuit? If so, you've probably accidentally left the lights on and flattened the battery on one or more occasions. This headlights reminder circuit will prevent that. It's more complicated than other circuits but it's also more versatile. As shown, the circuit uses two low-cost ICs. IC1 is a 555 timer which is wired to operate in astable mode. Its output clocks IC2, a 4017B decade counter. IC2 in turn drives a row of indicator LEDs and also resets IC1 (after about 10s) via transistor Q2. The circuit works like this: when the ignition is on, transistor Q1 is also on and this pulls pin 4 of IC1 low. As a result, IC1 is held reset and no clock pulses are fed to IC2. Conversely, if the ignition is turned off, Q1 will turn off and so IC1 will start oscillating and sound the piezo siren. At the same time, IC1 will clock IC2 and so LEDs 1-10 will light in sequence and stop (after about 10s) with the last...

Automatic TV Lighting Switch

Image
Automatic TV Lighting Switch . The author is the happy owner of a television set with built-in Ambilight lighting in the living room. Unfortunately, the television set in  the bedroom lacks this feature. To make up for this, the author attached a small lamp to the wall to provide background lighting, This makes  watching television a good deal more enjoyable, but it ’s  not the ideal solution. Although the TV set can be  switched off with the remote  control, you still have to get out of bed to switch off the lamp. Circuit diagram : Automatic TV Lighting Switch Circuit Diagram Consequently, the author devised this automatic lighting switch that switches the background light on and off along with the T V set. The entire circuit is fitted in series with the mains cable of the TV set, so there’s no need to tinker with the set. It works as follows: R1 senses  the current drawn by the TV  set. It has a maximum value  of 50 mA in standby mode,  ri...

Automatic Load Sensing Power Switch Circuit Diagram

Image
This circuit will automatically switch on several mains-powered "slave" loads when a "master" load is turned on. For example, it will switch on the amplifier and CD player in a stereo system when the receiver is turned on. It works by sensing the current draw of the "master" device through a low value high wattage resistor using a comparator. The output of that comparator then switches on the "slave" relay. The circuit can be built into a power bar, extension cord or power center to provide a convenient set of "smart" outlets that switch on when the master appliance is powered (turn on the computer monitor and the computer, printer and other peripherals come on as well). Automatic Switch For Audio Power Amplifier

Image
Circuit of an automatic switch for audio power amplifier stage is presented here. The circuit uses stereo preamplifier output to detect the presence of audio to switch the audio power amplifier on only when audio is present. The circuit thus helps curtail power wastage. IC1 is used as an inverting adder. The input signals from left and right channels are combined to form a common signal for IC2, which is used as an open loop comparator. IC3 (NE556) is a dual timer. Its second section, i.e., IC3(b), is configured as monostable multivibrator. Output of IC3(b) is used to switch the power amplifier on or off through a Darlington pair formed by transistors T1 and T2. IC3(a) is used to trigger the monostable multivibrator whenever an input signal is sensed. Circuit diagram: Automatic Switch For Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram Under ‘no signal’ condition, pin 3 of IC2 is negative with respect to its pin 2. Hence the output of IC2 is low and as a result output of IC3(a) is high. Since t...

Automatic Battery Charger

Image
Normally, chargers available in the market do not have any sort of control except for a ro-tary switch that can select different tap-pings on a rheostat, to vary the charging current. This type of control is not adequate because of the irregular fluctuations in the mains supply, rendering the control ineffective.  A simple circuit intended for automatic charging of lead-acid batteries is presented here. It is flexible enough to be used for large capacity inverter batteries. Only the rating of transformer and power transistor needs to be increased. Automatic Battery Charger Circuit Diagram   The circuit has been basically designed for a car battery (about 40 Ah rating), which could be used for lighting two 40W tube lights. The circuit includes Schmitt trigger relay driver, float charger, and battery voltage monitor sections.  The Schmitt trigger is incorporated to avoid relay chattering. It is designed for a window of about 1V. During charging, when the battery voltage in...
